About THE ARTIST

I am a Toronto-born visual fine artist with roots in Scottish bagpipes and English tea. My art is a fusion of aspects and styles from Chinese Brush Painting, Sumi-e, and western mixed media.

As a child and during one or our monthly trips to Toronto’s Chinatown, my father purchased an antique tea wagon for my mother.  It had been painted with Chinese Brush Painting techniques and my passion for the art and art form was born.

The colours and art techniques fuelled my imagination and they continue to be my inspiration as I transform inks and rice paper into Canadian landscapes, while incorporating those concepts into my abstract mixed media.
