I found it interesting to be in China and treated as a novelty. Many times there was a the constant stream of people wanting photographs with me, especially while using chopsticks while I eat (not the most flattering of photos I’m sure) and at times it was ‘too much’.
I was simply enjoying the sights, sounds and mysteries. I am more that what a stranger simply sees on the surface. We all are!
I had the privilege of discussing my art ‘Rockies in Spring’ with Chief China Peoples Conference, CHEN Baojiang, during my art exhibition in Chine in September 2018. We had the opportunity to compare the Canadian rockies with the Chinese mountains and our mutual love Chinese Brush Painting. Mr. CHEN is an avid supporter and promoter of the arts for China and he was incredibly complimentary and supportive of my use of Chinese Brush Painting techniques for my Canadian landscapes.
