In celebration of 20 years for the Lakeshore Art group, there is a members exhibition currently being held at the Living Arts Centre Gallery (2nd Floor of the Living Arts Centre, 4141 Living Arts Drive, Mississauga ON L5B 4B8). There will also be a closing reception on Thursday Sep 26th from 6-8pm. Join us in appreciation for the past 20 years as well as for the years to come. My painting entitled Land’s End, which was painted on rice paper using Chinese Brush Painting techniques is on display.
During a post art show opening VIP luncheon that included the Mayor of Beizhen, YANG, Mei, I was toasted by the Chief China Peoples Conference, CHEN, Baojing and congratulated for a successful show. Cheers (by me); Ganbei from him. It was a great lunch and interesting conversations.
I had the privilege of discussing my art ‘Rockies in Spring’ with Chief China Peoples Conference, CHEN Baojiang, during my art exhibition in Chine in September 2018. We had the opportunity to compare the Canadian rockies with the Chinese mountains and our mutual love Chinese Brush Painting. Mr. CHEN is an avid supporter and promoter of the arts for China and he was incredibly complimentary and supportive of my use of Chinese Brush Painting techniques for my Canadian landscapes.
On May 26/18, I was honoured to be a panelist hosted by WorkInCulture, an Ontario-based organization that supports artists and culture.
At the end of a workshop that had introduced emerging visual artists to the concept of marketing and developing a business plan, I was among 5 panelists that were asked a series of questions that explored how to develop one’s art career. I am the panelist at the far right of your screen.
I’ve frequently been asked to speak at a number of Art Talks as my combined business experience and success as an artist have provided me with a balance of both the left and right brain. May it pay dividends as I age!
